OVERVIEW

Biography

Bernd Halbherr was born 1964 in Ulm, Germany. He started studying art in Nuremberg, but then entered soon after the Dusseldorf Academy of fine Arts in 1992, where he graduated 1997 with the Master title of Arts. Meeting professional artists personally like Klaus Rinke ( his professor ), Gunther Uecker, Markus Luepertz, Jannis Kounellis and Tony Craag or only seeing some of the big names like Gerhard Richter or Nam Jun Paik was an impressive moment as a beginning art student. Although the taste of this glamorous touch seems nowadays relatively different, but by that time it had a huge impact on most of us young artist. Afterwards, soon he got contact to South Korea and the Asian Cultures, that mainly started with his first participation in Media City biennale 2000 and continued until now, working and living partly in Korea, partly in Germany.
