Suwon iPark Museum of Art
SUWON IPARK MUSEUM OF ART was opened on October 8, 2015 in order to become a new cultural rest area for the public. Playing the role of platform between tradition and modernity, the museum support and picking out local artists and introduces new national and international artistic trends.
Through exhibitions, collection of works, education, research on Suwon arts and cultural events, SUWON IPARK MUSEUM OF ART aims to create a unique culture to connect the region to the world and share creativity.
SUWON IPARK MUSEUM OF ART forms a path that naturally meets the city's image, stretching from Hwaseong Haenggung to Mount Paldal and the traditional gates of Paldalmun and Janganmun. Based on concrete construction, the museum has taken the patterns of pine boards to make you feel a blend of modern times and nature.
The building's greatest characteristic is shown in its slanted area. In addition, a design with an achromatic concept where black and white are crossed on the gray background of concrete emphasizes the exhibition.
For that reason, with its location on a historical area, harmony with the surrounding view was considered most significant. The museum design stressed the public's ability to visit the site in comfort.
